Akurli Bridge to ease traffic woes in North Mumbai
The inauguration of Akurli Bridge in North Mumbai aims to benefit citizens from all parts of Mumbai.
The Akurli Bridge on the Western Express Highway, inaugurated by the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri. Piyush Goyal, aims to end the traffic woes not just in North Mumbai but in other areas as well.
The bridge, whose construction quality is top-notch, is deemed one of the game-changing infrastructural marvels. The construction of the bridge, which was progressing at a very slow pace, was accelerated after Shri. Goyal’s intervention and continuous monitoring. The timely completion is in line with Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s vision of time-bound completion of infrastructure projects.
The project is beneficial to citizens both in terms of time and fuel. It addresses traffic woes on one of the major city routes. Shri. Goyal also has urged the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to accelerate the widening of the Akurli underpass, which is expected to be completed in the next month. He also has advised the traffic police to manage vehicular flow in a way that commuters are not affected.
Another project that Shri. Goyal is personally monitoring for timely completion is the extension of the Coastal Road to Bhayandar in Mumbai.
