CAREL demonstrates smart solutions for energy-efficient buildings

CAREL’s innovations, which incorporate Kiona’s AI-driven technologies, improve energy management, indoor air quality, and operational efficiency.

Energy efficiency and smart building management are now at the forefront of attempts to reduce consumption and the environmental effect. The focus of ISH 2025 will be on solutions to improve indoor air quality, as well as the integration of digital platforms capable of improving automation, maintenance, and operating efficiency. In this context, CAREL’s integrated offering, bolstered by Kiona — a Group subsidiary making its debut appearance at the CAREL display — presents novel technologies that enable maximum flexibility and optimal performance for both commercial and residential structures. Kiona’s energy management strategy for residential and commercial buildings is centralised and scalable. Its software-as-a-service systems use self-learning artificial intelligence to improve automation and reporting, resulting in greater control and lower usage.

Energy efficiency in residential buildings

The integration of Edge software into all residential units optimises energy consumption while maintaining stable indoor conditions. Advanced analytical tools, such as temperature graphs and 3D visualisations, provide a detailed overview of building performance. In addition, the Web Port platform offers full control over systems, alarms, and energy consumption, with the option to connect and monitor photovoltaic systems and lighting.

Complete control in commercial buildings

For the commercial sector, the Web Port and Energinet platforms enable efficient management of all systems, featuring an intuitive interface and advanced reports for consumption monitoring. Centralised and secure access makes it easy to manage multiple buildings, ensuring complete control and compliance with environmental regulations.

Air quality and energy recovery.

To maintain a healthy indoor atmosphere in commercial buildings while reducing energy consumption, innovative ventilation systems and effective energy recovery technologies are required. CAREL provides rotational heat exchangers for both sensible and latent heat recovery, which are specifically engineered to prevent bacterial development and the formation of unpleasant odours.

The integration of reversible heat pumps, inverters, and electronic expansion valves enables effective operation even at partial loads. CAREL sensors continuously monitor temperature, humidity, and CO₂ levels, while humidification systems modulate relative humidity for occupant comfort. Airflow management dampers improve total system efficiency; their frames feature a technical solution design.
