Ganga motorway sets world record for fastest 6-lane construction

Patel Infrastructure Ltd. sets a world record for the fastest 6-lane expressway construction on the Ganga Motorway, boosting India’s infrastructure prowess.

Patel Infrastructure Ltd. (PATEL) Gujarat, one of the country’s construction pioneers, has etched its name in history by setting a world record for the fastest construction of a 6-lane Ganga Motorway project, which also happens to be India’s longest motorway owned by a state, a dream project of Uttar Pradesh’s dynamic and visionary chief minister Shree Yogi Adityanath ji.

Using 20,105 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete and covering 1,71,210 square meters, this world record was set in just 24 hours of continuous operations. Additionally, a PATEL ancillary company called ROAD SHIELD PRIVATE LIMITED installed a metal beam crash barrier 10 kilometres away.  This achievement has been officially recognised and authenticated by three major record authorities: the Golden Book of World Records, the India Book of Records, and the Asia Book of Records.

Under the direction and vision of UPEIDA CEO Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, the WORLD RECORD was made possible. With full support from local and state authorities, the completion of this critical stretch is extremely important for both the local region and the state of Uttar Pradesh, acting as a catalyst for regional development and national connectivity.

The prestigious Ganga Expressway Project (Group-3) between the districts of Hardoi and Unnao was the site of the record-breaking endeavour. It was a landmark infrastructure project led by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and was a project of ADANI ROAD AND TRANSPORT LIMITED (ARTL), an ADANI GROUP COMPANY. Operations began sharply at 5:00 a.m. on May 17, 2025, and were completed by 5:00 a.m. on May 18, 2025, exceeding target quantities through a highly coordinated effort of engineers, machinery, materials, and skilled labour working effectively for 24 hours straight.

Arvind Patel, Managing Director, Patel Infrastructure Ltd., states, “We are proud to be contributing to nation-building through such monumental achievements. This is not just a record, it’s a reflection of Indian engineering brilliance and our team’s unwavering spirit”.
