Godrej introduces smart lock and home safety campaign

Godrej Locks launches Advantis IoT9 and the ‘Fear is Good’ campaign, which promotes proactive actions to improve safety in Indian homes.

Godrej & Boyce’s Locks & Architectural Fittings and Systems business, which is part of the Godrej Enterprises Group and is known with trust, quality, and safety, commemorated Home Safety Day 2024 , with the goal of boosting home safety awareness across India. To honour the anniversary, the company also announces the debut of the comprehensive My Home Safety Plan, a two-part effort meant to improve family safety, as well as the new ‘Fear is Good’ campaign, which encourages homeowners to adopt proactive safety precautions. As part of this initiative, it also introduced the cutting-edge Advantis IoT9 smart lock, which set a new standard for home security in India this year.

With the rising crime incidence in urban areas, Locks by Godrej highlights the importance of increased home security. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), India’s crime rate in 2024 was 445.9 per 100,000 people, with stealing being the most common crime. Implementing proper safety precautions has become critical. To make home safety accessible to everyone, Locks by Godrej launches the My Home Safety Plan, a two-part project meant to improve family safety. The package includes a complementary, expert-led Home Safety Checkup to detect risks and tailor remedies, as well as My Home Safety Quotient, an online platform that provides personalised safety scores and actionable recommendations. This is supported by the introduction of the Advantis IoT9 smart lock, which was designed with Indian households in mind.

Highlighting the significance of Home Safety Day, Shyam Motwani, EVP & Business Head, Locks & Architectural Fittings & Systems, Godrej & Boyce, says, “In the past three years, we have completed close to 1.5 lakh home safety checkups across 3,500 pin codes, resulting in a 25 percent increase in safety adoption rates. These assessments uncovered significant safety gaps, emphasizing the need for accessible and reliable solutions that families can trust. This year, we reaffirm our commitment to the ‘Har Ghar Surakshit’ mission, dedicated to raising home safety awareness nationwide. The launch of first-of-its-kind Advantis IoT9 smart lock exemplify our commitment to technology and efforts to make Indian homes safer. The innovative ‘Fear is Good’ campaign is aimed to further communicate the importance of staying safe at home. Through continuous innovation, engagement, and a proactive approach to safety, Locks by Godrej is empowering households to confidently face future safety challenges.”
