Haryana promotes sustainability with rooftop solar installations

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is approving solar panels for 290 government buildings, enhancing renewable energy and sustainable development.
Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, approves a ₹36 crore initiative to install rooftop solar power plants in 290 government buildings. Saini presided over the meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High-Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), and High-Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC).
According to an official release, contracts and acquisitions of ₹804 crore were cleared at the meeting, which also included Ministers Vipul Goel, Ranbir Gangwa, and Shruti Choudhry. According to the announcement, the state administration is moving quickly to execute the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
This initiative aims to offer individuals affordable electricity by installing solar panels of up to 2 kW on rooftops. Consumers will use electricity as needed, with excess power sold to the grid, he said. The Chief Minister states that under this scheme, the central government will provide a subsidy of ₹60,000, while the Haryana government will provide ₹50,000. As a result, he advised everyone to make the most of this opportunity.
During the discussion, an agency was selected for the entire disposal of legacy recyclables at the Bandhwari dump site in Gurugram district. The Chief Minister requests the concerned officers to dispose of the rubbish completely within the next four months. If this is not done, the Chief Minister will take action against the agency in question and levy sanctions. He highlighted that cleanliness plans should be made in all cities and rural areas of Haryana. He said there should be no obvious waste mounds anywhere.
Meanwhile, in the meeting, consent was given for the acquisition of super sucker machines worth nearly ₹13 crore to enable proper sewage cleaning. Saini instructed the authorities involved that there would be no compromise on quality in infrastructure projects. He states that special attention should be paid to the quality of each assignment. During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officers to seek desires for various sports from all schools and to develop infrastructure in schools in response to those demands.
