The hydrophobic pore-blocking ingredient (HPI) we developed offers heavy-duty integral waterproofing. The admixture contains a damp-proof and corrosion-proof hydrophobic matrix that prevents absorption and lateral transmission of water or dampness and provides a dry and damp-free structure. Using this product eliminates the use of plastic or waterproof sheets, membranes, and external coatings. The product is thus high-performing, cost-effective, and saves substantial construction time.
How do Nutech waterproofing chemicals mitigate water ingress and moisture-related damage during heavy rainfall?
Normal concrete or high-quality concrete inevitably contains capillaries and microcracks. Some reasons for the porous nature of concrete structures include the dehydration of excess water during curing, the presence of air-entering agents, shrinkage, etc. These shortfalls are inevitable in concrete structures. These factors allow the passage of water by natural capillary absorption, resulting in dampness, leakage, and corrosion of the reinforced concrete. Our HPI admixture reacts with the calcium of the cement to form a barrier-changing surface tension, resulting in a concrete which is inherently water-repellent and non-absorptive. The polymer molecules fill up the capillaries formed by bleed water. The molecules bind together to form a physical plug, thus acting as a waterproofing barrier preventing the water from entering the structure.
