Interarch expands manufacturing footprint: Launches phase 2 in Andhra Pradesh, upgrades Uttarakhand facility

Interarch Building Products, a leading player in the pre-engineered buildings (PEB) and steel structure industry, has announced the commencement of Phase 2 construction of its South India manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.
The expansion comes after the successful inauguration and rapid capacity ramp-up of Phase 1 in September 2024, marking an important milestone in the company’s growth. Phase 2 is designed to replicate the capacity of Phase 1 and is expected to become operational by April 2025, further enhancing Interarch’s production capabilities in the region.
In addition to expanding its Andhra Pradesh plant, Interarch is upgrading its North India manufacturing facility at Kichha, Uttarakhand. This upgrade is the second largest in recent years, after 2021. The scale-up is expected to significantly boost the plant’s capacity to handle multi-storey buildings and heavy steel structures. With an additional installed capacity of 20,000 metric tons, the Kichha facility will play a key role in supporting the company’s growing presence in the Indian market.
With the expansion of the Andhra Pradesh Phase 2 unit and the upgradation of the Kichha unit, both expected by April 2025, Interarch’s total installed capacity is projected to exceed 200,000 metric tons per annum.
Interarch has established a dedicated Research & Development (R&D) and Innovation Centre in Chennai as part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and growth. This centre will be led by M. Rajan, a highly experienced professional with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and credentials as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE), UK. With over 24 years of extensive experience in the steel structures industry, Rajan brings valuable expertise to this initiative. The R&D Centre will focus on creating value-engineered solutions for heavy industries, high-rise structures, commercial buildings, and data centres. It aims to reduce project timelines by up to 30 percent through advanced engineering design and manufacturing efficiencies. Additionally, the centre will provide advanced training to Interarch’s engineering teams nationwide.
