What vertical transportation services does your company offer for commercial and high-rise residential buildings?
Otis is an industry leader in providing vertical transportation solutions across categories. Over the past few years, Otis has introduced over 25 new products in the Indian market, a full product range for commercial and residential spaces, including the Gen 3™ elevator systems powered by IoT. Our Compass360® destination management system, equipped with smart screens, is a virtual concierge, designed exclusively for high rises, predicts passenger movement and groups them. The other exclusive offering is the Otis Integrated Dispatch API, which connects autonomous service robots with Otis elevators, and is a perfect solution for hospitals, hotels, and office buildings.

How have you integrated technology to ensure elevators’ smooth functioning?
IoT and digitalisation drive our modernisation efforts through the Otis ONE™ technology. This digital platform has facilitated the connection of over 1 million units globally, providing visibility into portfolio performance and enabling service professionals to resolve several issues remotely. The Gen3 elevator system comes with proven design and built-in connectivity of our Otis ONE™ IoT digital platform. Our digital-driven solutions include predictive maintenance, destination dispatch technology through our CompassPlus™ system, and the eCall™ app, allowing passengers to register elevator calls from their mobile phones.

How are your elevator solutions tailored to ensure energy efficiency?
We make a conscious and continuous effort to design products with minimal environmental impact. Through measurable data and third-party certified Environmental Product Declarations, the environmental performance of many of our products throughout their lifecycles are monitored and reported. Otis ONE™ has also helped significantly reduce unnecessary service calls and site visits by engineers, lowering travel-related emissions. Our products are built in with energy-efficient technologies such ReGen™ drives, which produce clean power and supply surplus energy back into the building’s internal power grid for it to be used by other systems. This cycle reduces consumption by up to 75 percent compared to non-regenerative drives.

Describe the maintenance strategies that your company has undertaken to avoid breakdowns and enhance the safety and reliability for users.
Safety of users has always been a priority at Otis. Our Otis Gen3 digitally native elevators in India, powered by the Otis ONE™ IoT digital platform, provide connected intelligence that continuously monitors elevator health and performance in real time. The platform automatically collects data and analyses it using big data analytics in the cloud. These predictive insights and continuous visibility enhance overall operational performance.

Some other features that enable passenger safety include multi-beam door sensors that prevent doors from closing on passengers, intelligent braking systems that enable precise stopping, and comprehensive emergency evacuation procedures that protect passengers.
