ISH 2025 showcases innovations for climate-neutral building solutions

ISH 2025 in Frankfurt highlights global advances in climate-neutral building services, including sustainable solutions for energy efficiency and water management.
One of the most pressing issues confronting us today is how to safeguard the climate, and the building industry plays a critical role in this regard. Buildings absorb around approximately forty percent of the energy in Europe and emit 36 percent of the energy-related greenhouse gases. Thus, innovative technology, renewable energies, smart water usage, and sophisticated control systems are critical if we are to meet our climate goals. ISH 2025, held in Frankfurt am Main from March 17 to 21, features 2,183 exhibitors from 54 countries displaying the industry’s most recent innovations.
ISH 2025 aims to address climate-related issues in the sanitary and HVAC sectors, including optimising water consumption, reducing CO₂ emissions, improving indoor air quality, and controlling energy consumption through smart building automation. Digital applications and sustainable production techniques also help to create a climate-neutral building sector. The innovations are being displayed by 2,183 exhibitors from 54 countries. Aside from Germany, the majority of them come from Italy, China, Turkey, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, and India. Overall, 72 percent of exhibitors are from countries other than Germany, demonstrating a high level of internationality that provides trade visitors with comprehensive insights into worldwide market trends and cutting-edge technologies.
“The sanitary and HVAC sectors are continuously developing important innovations that can drive forward the energy revolution and contribute to progress in the heating supply and water management sectors. However, full-scale implementation will only succeed if we work together under the right conditions. ISH is the leading platform for the industry, where manufacturers, planners, tradespeople and political decision-makers come together to develop sustainable solutions and actively shape the future of the built world,” says Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt.
A new concept for new challenges
The trade fair’s layout, which debuts this year in a new format, reflects the fundamental difficulties confronting the sanitary and HVAC sectors. The restructuring is based on surveys of visitors’ needs and interests, as well as conversations with partners and exhibitors. Today, the industry’s offering is increasingly focused on comprehensive systems and integrated solutions. Planners, traders, and operators are also increasingly seeking comprehensive, integrated solutions, which the new ISH structure addresses. At its core are eight solution sectors that give quick orientation: bathrooms, water-bearing systems, installation, heat generation, indoor air, intelligent building management, software, and sanitary and HVAC production.
Sustainability and digitisation are becoming increasingly crucial in all areas. Furthermore, the trade show is supported by a comprehensive programme of events that provide in-depth insights into industry-relevant issues and chances for the exchange of ideas and information, as well as networking.
Value of water conference: New impulses for the future of water management
The ‘Value of Water Conference’ at ISH on March 17 and 18, 2025, will focus on the critical role that water plays as a vital resource. Messe Frankfurt, in collaboration with Euroforum, is hosting a new conference at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre’s Congress Centre. The conference will focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 6, which aims to improve global access to clean water and sanitation. To that end, the conference brings together international professionals in industry, science, and politics to discuss sustainable water use, innovative technologies, and forward-thinking methods.
Building Future Conference: ways to climate-neutral building-services technology
The Building Future Conference, which takes place at ISH 2025 in the Portalhaus of the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre from 17 to 20, is on how buildings might be made more sustainable. Experts in politics, business, and science will explore the general circumstances and technologies required to accelerate the energy revolution in the building sector. Climate-friendly building concepts, energy efficiency, and the industry’s role in meeting climate goals are among the issues covered.
Messe Frankfurt is organising the conference in collaboration with partners including the Federation of the German Heating Industry (BDH), the Association of Air Conditioning and Ventilation in Buildings (FGK), the German Association for Energy Efficiency in Building Services (VdZ), the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Association (ZVSHK), and several other national and international trade associations.
