IWAI plans to start river transport project in Odisha
Water Transport: Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has plan to start river transport project in Odisha and targets to connect Dhamra and Paradip ports with Talcher and Kalinganagar industrial hub. As part of the project Brahmani, four of its distributaries like Kani, Kharasrota, Dhamara and Mantei and some portions of Mahanadi river close to Paradip port will be dredged up to three metres. East Coast Canal revival is also part of the project at Dhamra in Odisha. Inland Waterways Authority of India has plan to invests around Rs. 1243 Crores.
