LANXESS among top climate performers in CDP rating

LANXESS is ranked in the top 2 percent of over 24,700 companies with an “A” rating from CDP for its climate protection efforts. The company also received an “A-” for responsible water management.
The Climate Protection Initiative CDP recognised LANXESS for its outstanding contributions to the fight against climate change. CDP has assigned the speciality chemicals company an “A” in the “Climate” category in its most recent assessment. This places LANXESS in the top 2 percent of the more than 24,700 companies evaluated by CDP.
Companies that report particularly transparently and comprehensively on their climate protection activities, as well as implement corresponding projects, receive the grade “A”. To do so, they must demonstrate their strategies and actions, such as establishing scientifically sound targets and developing a climate protection plan. LANXESS has been disclosing climate protection data to CDP since 2012.
In addition, CDP evaluated LANXESS’s commitment to safe and responsible water resource management. The organisation gave the grade “A-“. “With our solutions and expertise, we are making a significant contribution to sustainable development. At the same time, we are helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. CDP’s renewed top rating underscores our commitment to climate protection and shows that we are on the right track,” says Hubert Fink, member of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG.
CDP: Maximum transparency of environmental data
Creating global transparency on greenhouse gas emissions and the management of forests and water resources is the mission of CDP, an independent non-profit organisation. In 2025, over 24,700 companies submitted data, making the CDP data platform one of the world’s most comprehensive sources of environmental information. CDP reporting now covers more than 66 percent of the world’s listed market capitalisation, indicating that it has become a business standard.
