Maharashtra government fast-tracks eleven infra projects statewide

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has sanctioned ₹54,354 crore for land acquisition in 11 important infrastructure projects to accelerate development by 2025.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has sanctioned ₹54,354 crore for land acquisition across 11 important projects, aiming to accelerate infrastructure development. The declaration occurred after a high-level meeting of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) led by the Chief Minister in Mumbai.
MSRDC will receive 17,000 crore immediately to expedite land acquisition for nine critical projects, including the Pune Ring Road, Jalna-Nanded highway, Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor, Jalna Dry Port, and the Pune-Bangalore Economic Corridor.
To avoid project delays and cost overruns, CM Shinde urged officials to expedite land acquisition operations, intending to complete all acquisitions by the end of 2025. He also emphasised the importance of obtaining essential forest and environmental clearances in ecologically vulnerable areas, such as the Morbe-Karanja forest stretch.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to use the Gati Shakti platform for faster clearances and real-time tracking of developments. In addition, he directed early progress on an Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) survey for Gadchiroli Airport and encouraged prompt clearance for runway expansions at Akola and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Land acquisition for major railway projects, like the Wardha-Gadchiroli and Wardha-Nanded lines, must be completed within 15 days, he stated.
This deliberate allocation and emphasis on timely execution demonstrate the state’s commitment to improving connectivity, increasing economic development, and assuring infrastructure readiness throughout Maharashtra.
