Mango Flyover construction to augment connectivity in Jamshedpur

The Mango Flyover project in Jamshedpur is progressing quickly and is expected to considerably alleviate traffic congestion, reducing everyday commutes for thousands of inhabitants.
A significant infrastructure project in Jamshedpur, the Mango Flyover, is expected to improve daily commutes and lessen traffic jams. The flyover, projected to cost 252 crore in its first phase, spans around 3.4 km and has four-lane and two-lane sections to improve traffic flow.
The four-lane section near Blue Bells School on Dimna Road is intended to improve traffic flow between Dimna Road and Sakchi. Meanwhile, the two-lane portion would connect Mango’s New Purulia Road near Payal Cinema to the Marine Drive Maharana Pratap Roundabout, particularly serving commuters from Sakchi and the surrounding area.
Construction is moving quickly, with 32 out of 57 pillars now started and 26 pillars capped. A crucial milestone is the manufacturing and imminent installation of a 120-foot-long, six-foot-high girder spanning the Swarnarekha River, which will be installed with specialised crane equipment.
The project, which is being led by Dinesh Chandra Agarwal’s agency, is scheduled to be completed in March 2025. Once operational, the flyover is intended to considerably reduce traffic congestion, shorten commuting times and improve overall traffic management in Jamshedpur. Residents of Mango, Dimna, Azadnagar, Sakchi, Bhuinyandih, and Vishtupur would benefit tremendously from the improved infrastructure.
Though ongoing construction has resulted in minor traffic delays, local officials remain enthusiastic about the long-term benefits. The Mango Flyover is a critical step in modernising Jamshedpur’s road network and making daily travel easier for thousands of commuters.
