MHADA redevelopment transforms Siddharth Nagar with 672 new homes

MHADA’s Siddharth Nagar redevelopment has completed 672 flats, providing modern amenities and quality housing to eligible Patra Chawl residents.

After a 16-year wait, eligible residents of Patra Chawl in Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon, will soon receive their homes. The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has completed the construction of 672 apartments in the R-09 segment of the Siddharth Nagar Redevelopment Project.

A senior MHADA official released project data, indicating that the R-09 plot consists of 16 wings, marked A to P, covering a total area of 17,463.30 square meters. “The entire built-up area of the project is an amazing 45,200.91 square meters. Each unit has a carpet space of 650 square feet and an additional 117 square feet of balcony. “Out of the 686 tenements built, 672 have been designated rehabilitation units,” the official stated.

To ensure safety and convenience, each building wing has two lifts and a fully automated firefighting system. The project also contains substantial water storage facilities, such as a five lakh-litre household water tank, an eight lakh-litre firefighting tank, and extra rainwater harvesting and flushing tanks with capacities of four lakh and two lakh litres, respectively. A sewage treatment plant (STP) is positioned in the basement, and terrace tanks have been erected for fire protection, household use, and flushing.

The apartments were designed with modern aesthetics and functionality in mind, and they include a false ceiling in the living room, an additional service platform in the kitchen, and a balcony with stainless steel and glass railing, which adds to the overall beauty of the residential complex.

The completion of the R-09 section is an important milestone in the Siddharth Nagar Redevelopment Project, demonstrating MHADA’s dedication to urban redevelopment and improving housing conditions in Mumbai. The project is expected to give quality housing and higher living standards to its citizens.
