Nitin Gadkari announces ₹5,416 crore Telangana road projects

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate and lay the groundwork for ₹5,416 crore road projects in Telangana.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, will lay the groundwork for ₹5,416 crore in Telangana road infrastructure projects. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Coal and Mines and Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy, who emphasised the central government’s ongoing investment in improving the state’s connectivity.
The projects will be launched at events in Kagaznagar town and Hyderabad. Road projects worth ₹4,590 crore will be inaugurated, with foundation stones laid for additional works worth ₹826 crore. These initiatives include critical national highways and road networks aimed at improving interstate and intrastate connectivity throughout Telangana.
One of the major projects to be inaugurated is a 1.47-kilometre-long six-lane elevated corridor (flyover) in Amberpet, Hyderabad. Built for 330 crore, the flyover is expected to significantly relieve traffic congestion in one of the city’s busiest areas, improving overall vehicular movement.
The upcoming projects are part of the Centre’s larger vision to upgrade Telangana’s infrastructure, resulting in safer, faster, and more efficient transportation networks. The emphasis remains on urban improvement and improving rural and semi-urban connectivity, which promotes regional development.
The road projects are also expected to generate job opportunities during the construction phase and contribute to economic growth by improving logistics and access to markets. The launch comes at a time when Telangana is putting more emphasis on infrastructure-driven growth to align with national development goals.
These developments demonstrate the Centre’s commitment to Telangana’s development and integration into the national highway modernisation programme under the Bharatmala Pariyojana and other flagship initiatives.
