RVNL strengthens railway infrastructure with Koraput-Singapur expansion project

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) obtained a ₹404.4 crore contract for the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling project under East Coast Railway.

RVNL obtained a ₹404.4 crore contract from East Coast Railway for the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling Project. This critical railway infrastructure upgrade aims to increase connectivity and improve freight and passenger transportation in the region.

The project involves the construction of 27 significant bridges, including 22 major bridges and five road overbridges (ROBs). The project also includes considerable earthwork for the formation of approaches, the installation of protective structures, and the development of accompanying infrastructure at the Tikiri and Bhalumaska stations. The Waltair division of East Coast Railway is carrying out the project, which is planned to be finished within 30 months.

The Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling Project is a strategic initiative aiming at decongesting existing railway lines, improving transport efficiency and enhancing regional economic activity. Doubling railway lines increases capacity, reduces delays, and improves operational efficiency for freight and passenger services.

RVNL has formally submitted project details to the stock exchange. RVNL’s shares on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) were trading at ₹406.45, up 1.42 percent from the previous close. The stock has increased by 44 percent in the last year, with a little decrease of 1.13 percent in the last month.

RVNL, a prominent actor in railway infrastructure development, has been actively involved in carrying out important railway projects across India, contributing to the modernisation and expansion of the country’s railway network.
