The 4-kilometre elevated road project aims to decongest Greater Noida

To ease traffic and boost regional connectivity, the Greater Noida Authority will construct a ₹400 crore, 4-km elevated road connecting Greater Noida West to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway via NH-9.

The Greater Noida Authority plans to improve regional connectivity by building a ₹ 400 crore, 4-kilometre elevated motorway connecting Greater Noida West to the Delhi-Meerut Motorway (DME). This six-lane highway is intended to meet the increasing traffic needs caused by rapid urbanisation in Greater Noida and its nearby areas. The new route will begin at the 130-metre-wide arterial road in Sector 4 of Greater Noida West and go through significant areas like Shahberi and Crossings Republik in Ghaziabad before linking to National Highway 9 (NH-9) and the DME.

This section is intended to help thousands of daily commuters while also accommodating Greater Noida West’s planned population development of roughly two million residents in the coming years.  Recognising the corridor’s strategic importance, the Authority has asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to oversee construction.  NHAI’s previous experience with the DME is viewed as a significant benefit in assuring seamless project implementation, particularly in terms of land acquisition.  The project financing is scheduled to be shared by the development authorities of Greater Noida, Noida, and Ghaziabad, demonstrating a collaborative effort to improve regional infrastructure.

The construction of this elevated road is not an isolated endeavour.  It complements other infrastructure changes in the neighbourhood, such as a 720-metre six-lane underpass being built on the Taj Motorway to improve traffic flow near Gaur Chowk.  These infrastructural improvements are part of a bigger initiative to prepare for the forthcoming Noida International Airport near Jewar, which is expected to significantly boost traffic flow.  By investing in these developments today, the Greater Noida Authority hopes to ensure uninterrupted transportation and contribute to the area’s continued growth as a significant residential and business hub in the National Capital Region.
