LED Expo Mumbai 2025 will feature over 200 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge LED solutions, smart lighting advancements, and sustainable technologies

The lighting market is exploding with innovations that combine the comforts of automation, customisation, intelligence, and energy conservation. LED Expo Mumbai, organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, is India’s only specialised platform for all things lighting. The upcoming edition of LED Expo Mumbai, produced by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, will take place from April 3 to 5, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, with 200+ exhibitors showcasing around 6,000+ goods.

LED Expo Mumbai will feature a one-of-a-kind collection of LED lighting solutions that not only serve the lighting industry but also delve deeply into relatively new concepts such as smart lights, LEDs for design and décor, LEDs for atmospheric lighting and wellness, and problem-solving innovations like biomimicry in lighting applications. The forthcoming edition has experienced growth in the electrical category, with over 20 exhibitors.

Important industry highlights emerged from an exhibitor poll performed with those participating in the forthcoming edition, which emphasised the following:

Smart lighting and automation devices are increasingly being used in architectural and commercial settings. However, the story changes in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, where such products are adopted at a slower rate. Common roadblocks, including supply chain and power shortages, are impeding large-scale implementation.

Exhibitors mentioned that numerous components are supplied globally. To help the LED lighting industry become self-sufficient, government programs promote component localisation and high-quality LED product production. India’s LED lighting business is expanding due to initiatives such as the Smart Cities Mission and rising housing demand. Additionally, the country is installing solar-powered LED lights in rural areas, particularly in the northeast.

Expressing his thoughts, Raj Manek, Executive Director of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, stated: “The Indian infrastructure landscape has witnessed remarkable growth, opening new avenues for the LED lighting industry. Beyond illumination, LED technology is revolutionising with applications such as beautification projects, indoor and outdoor decoration, wellness, street lighting and public lighting, amongst many others. LED lights, apart from being energy efficient, are becoming brighter, keeping down the energy consumption. I am happy to share that the LED and the lighting industry will once again unite at LED Expo Mumbai 2025 to present the innovations for the future towards which India is advancing. Over the years, we have also observed a significant rise in participation from the electrical segment, further strengthening the ecosystem.”

During the show, tailored knowledge sessions will invite industry professionals onto the dais to share insights from their experience in the field.

On April 3, 2025, Women in Lighting, India, hosted a panel discussion titled “CXO Power Panel: Balancing Design, Innovation, and Manufacturing Excellence in the Lighting Industry.”

Landscape lighting in infrastructure projects and stadium floodlights are two of the fastest-expanding applications in India’s LED lighting industry. These are expected to fuel the growth of the luminaires segment. As India prepares to undergo rapid transformation through large-scale public initiatives,. According to a recent Mordor Intelligence study, the industrial and warehouse category dominates the Indian LED lighting industry, accounting for approximately 56 percent of the entire indoor LED lighting market in 2024. It also indicates that vehicle headlights have emerged as the dominant category in India’s automotive utility LED lighting industry, accounting for nearly 35 percent of the market share by 2024.

The event has received support from prestigious industry bodies and associations such as Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a unit of the Ministry of Power, the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), the Government of Maharashtra Institute, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Electric Merchants Association (EMA), and Women in Lighting India.

The upcoming event promises to provide an engaging showcase of lighting solutions that represent the future of connected lighting solutions, sensor-based lighting, energy-efficient lighting, landscape lighting, decorative and architectural lights, and much more, influencing professionals who use lighting and LED products regularly. Prestigious brands including Aastha LED, Demak Italy, Power Plazzo, Network INC, Tektroniks, JN Lighting LLP (Tinge), and Zylos, among others, will unveil their latest developments. With this, LED Expo Mumbai will continue to enhance the experience of exhibitors and visitors by providing a dynamic platform for industry debates and future-ready solutions.
