UPEIDA proposes mega expressway plans across Uttar Pradesh

With a vision to improve mobility and industry, UPEIDA proposes nine expressways, including key regional link routes, to be developed at an estimated cost of ₹20,000 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has begun planning for the construction of nine new expressways, with an estimated cost of ₹ 20,000 crore. Proposals for these expressways, which will span 2,096 kilometres, have been finalised.
These expressways aim to dramatically increase connectivity and industrial expansion throughout the state. The following expressways are currently operational: the Noida-Greater Noida Expressways, Yamuna Expressways, Agra-Lucknow Expressways, Purvanchal Expressways, Bundelkhand Expressways, and Meerut-Delhi Expressways. Meanwhile, other expressways are under development, including the Gorakhpur Link, Ganga, Chitrakoot Link, Delhi-Saharanpur, Ballia Link, and Lucknow-Kanpur Expressways.
The following expressways are being proposed: Lucknow Link Expressways, Farrukhabad Link Expressways, Jewar Link Expressways, Vindhya Expressways, Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressways, Chitrakoot-Rewa Link Expressways, Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressways, and Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressways.
According to UPEIDA CEO Hari Pratap Shahi, UPEIDA would build seven of them, while the National Highways Department will develop the Gorakhpur-Siliguri and Gorakhpur-Shamli expressways.
