Viva’s EPD-Certified ACPs empower sustainable construction practices

Viva Composite Panel Pvt. Ltd. recently announced its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for aluminium composite panels, which aligns with major sustainability frameworks like LEED, BREEAM, and IGBC.

Viva, Asia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of aluminium composite panels (ACP), is pleased to announce the release of its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its ACP line. This globally validated EPD, filed with the International EPD® System, demonstrates Viva’s persistent commitment to sustainable production and environmental transparency.

The EPD for 1 m² of Viva ACP (4 mm thick) covers Fire-Retardant (FR) Class A2, FR Class B1, and Non-FR ACPs. It outlines the environmental performance of the product throughout its lifecycle, from raw material extraction to end-of-life recycling. The investigation finds that as much as 95 percent of the aluminium and 90 percent of the polyethylene (PE) core used in Viva panels are recyclable, making a substantial contribution to a circular economy. Architects and developers who use Viva’s EPD-certified ACPs can earn up to two LEED points for their green construction projects, contributing significantly to sustainable and ecologically responsible infrastructure. This accreditation certifies Viva’s low environmental impact and facilitates compliance with worldwide green building standards such as LEED, BREEAM, IGBC, and GRIHA.

Viva ACPs are designed for versatility and performance, with applications spanning a wide range of industries. They are a popular choice in architecture for building facades and cladding due to their lightweight nature, weather resistance, and aesthetic flexibility. The panels are equally successful in interior design, improving walls, ceilings, and partitions in both commercial and residential settings. Aside from building, Viva ACPs are utilised in premium signs, transportation (such as car interiors and bodies); retail fixtures, modern furniture, and even solar panel structures, illustrating the product’s versatility, durability, and increasing importance in design and infrastructure.

Nitin Jain, Director, Viva Composite Panel Pvt. Ltd., says, “Achieving this EPD certification marks a major milestone in our sustainability journey. It reflects our dedication to responsible manufacturing, transparency, and our vision of building a greener future through innovative cladding solutions.”

The ACPs are manufactured at Viva’s cutting-edge factory in Umbergaon, Gujarat, utilising sophisticated Korean technology. They are noted for their durability, aesthetic appeal, and versatility in applications such as facades, interiors, signage, transportation, and more. With this EPD, Viva joins the ranks of the few Indian ACP producers to provide internationally benchmarked sustainability credentials, allowing architects, developers, and builders to make informed and eco-conscious material decisions.
