The just completed WOFX – World Furniture Expo 2024 has once again raised the bar for furniture and design expos. The Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai turned into a thriving hub of innovation, commercial prospects, and cross-border collaboration for three days, from 5th to 7th December. WOFX 2024 had a record-breaking turnout, with 100+ companies and exhibitors from 11 countries and 13,247+ B2B buyers from 21 nations and 26 Indian states.
International exhibitors included representatives from the United States, Germany, Italy, Turkey, the UAE, China, Japan, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, and India. Visitors saw cutting-edge furniture trends, technologies, and design inspirations from around the world. Rajesh Bhagat, Chairman & Managing Director of Worldex India, shared, “India’s furniture and design industry is witnessing unprecedented growth, but true progress comes through collaboration. WOFX connects stakeholders with global designs, materials and expertise, empowering exhibitors to build a pan-India presence while fostering international partnerships.”
Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister, Huzefa Samplewala, President, Association of Furniture Manufacturers & Traders (AFMT), Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), Rahul Mehta, CEO, Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), Ketan Sheth, Chairperson, Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Mumbai Chapter, and other industry trade bodies attended the event.

The Expo received positive responses from both exhibitors and buyers. Nikhil Redkar, Country Head of Kuka Home, adds, ‘WOFX proved to be an outstanding B2B platform for us. We had many dealers from the West and South of India visiting us as well as a few dealers from the North, providing us with valuable regional and national exposure. What truly set this expo apart was the quality of attendees—a well-curated and targeted audience that enabled us to conduct business efficiently and productively. It was a seamless experience that exceeded our expectations.”
Pratik Thakkar, Director of Trezure Casa stated, “We connected with numerous dealers from across the country especially from the West and Southern regions as well as some from the North and a few from Eastern India as well, providing us with a significant opportunity to accelerate our pan-India expansion. Additionally, the strong presence of architects and designers at our booth enhanced our brand visibility and credibility within the industry, positioning us effectively among key decision-makers and professionals.”
Visitors echoed this attitude, noting that the items displayed at WOFX from India and outside are game changers and that the exhibition keeps all players on top of trends, advancements, and innovation. Ashish Bhutda, CEO of Praxis Home Retail, commented, “Glad to see a large assortment of products with diverse designs and quality with all kinds of comfort and the opportunity to meet manufacturers from across India and the globe.”
WOFX operated as a strategic knowledge exchange and thought leadership hub, hosting seminars such as ‘Smart Talks’ that offered insights from industry veterans on sourcing and market strategies, as well as emerging consumer trends in furniture designs and colours. These sessions helped attendees tackle emerging possibilities and problems with confidence.
WOFX, known for its awards and industry accolades, recognised outstanding booth design, product innovation, and inventiveness. The prizes, judged by leading architects and designers, demonstrated WOFX’s dedication to recognising talent and encouraging innovation. WOFX is a strong base for future expansion. The Indian furniture market is expected to reach $26.85 billion by 2028, driven by expansion in real estate and hospitality. As the industry advances, WOFX is sure to emerge as the sole specialised platform that brings together furniture manufacturers, suppliers, and design professionals to define a global future. Supported by industry heavyweights such as AFMT, RAI, and FFSC, WOFX has emerged as a transformative force, connecting India’s dynamic furniture industry to global prospects.
WOFX 2024’s success paves the way for the next edition in 2025. The event will continue to promote innovation, pan-India and worldwide networking, talent development, and sustainability, enabling India’s furniture sector to reach new heights. Stay tuned as WOFX transforms the Indian furniture market, catapulting firms from regional and national to international success.
