The foundation stone has been laid for four laning of Qazigund to Banihal section of National Highway 44 (earlier known as NH-1A) from 189.35 km to 204.7 km including 2-tunnels of 8.45 km and 0.69 km length in the state of Jammu & Kashmir by the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Dr. CP Joshi at Qazigund in Anantnag of J&K.
