Thrust towards smart, intuitive technologies

The construction industry in India has been consistently contributing 7-8 per cent to the GDP since the last five years, according to ASSOCHAM. In the wake of government’s Smart Cities Mission and green building initiative, the infrastructure sector is expected to show signs of recovery. However, the growth is likely to not only present plethora of opportunities, but would also raise question over the already-existing energy deficit and environment conservation.

According to National Statistical Organization (NSO) of India, energy consumption by building sector is expected to increase to 76 per cent in 2040. Residential building sector is already one of the largest consumers of electricity in India and by 2020, India is projected to become the world’s third-largest energy consumer after US and China.

On a positive note, the government’s initiative towards green buildings and smart cities is giving an added impetus to the current Indian HVAC & R industry to develop not only smart and energy-efficient, but also affordable HVAC solutions. And, in order to satiate the ever-increasing demands, increasing global and local players are shifting their attention to India, thus making the country a true global manufacturing hub for HVAC equipment.

In residential air conditioning, the company has introduced expandable inverter ACs this year designed for extremely hot weather conditions of the tropical Indian plains and hot and humid conditions of the coastal regions. With 60 per cent faster cooling, 20 per cent more moisture removal and 10 per cent higher performance, it provides optimal comfort and cooling that’s best-in class and unmatched. Currently, Hitachi has 18 per cent models in its lineup which are 5 Star inverter ACs and green as well.

For the commercial building segment, we offer VRF Systems and Ductable Air Conditioners. Designed keeping in mind the needs of Architects and HVAC Consultants, Hitachi has introduced new SET-FREE Sigma (?) Series. Named after the Mathematical symbol “?” which stands for the combined strengths of Johnson Controls and Hitachi VRF Technologies, this series has been designed with global expertise especially for the Indian climate and consumers. It offers higher energy efficiency, engineered aesthetics, enhanced strengths, compact design, compact cooling and heating. Thus, with least energy wastage, maximal capacity in minimalistic floor space, SET FREE-Sigma Series gives energy efficient performance combined with premium looks. In light commercial packaged air conditioners, Hitachi has also introduced Toushi Ductable Air Conditioners, Flexi Split ACs and eight new models of Cassette ACs.

Designed for commercial and industrial requirements, the Screw Chillers (air and water) and Centrifugal Chiller Series with eco-friendly refrigerant offers most energy-efficient cooling solutions. Its impressive performance coupled with precise and continuous capacity control technology, user friendly LCD touch panel and high performance compressor, provides cooling with low noise and low vibrations which is ideal for industrial and commercial purposes.
