KDMC slum rehabilitation project by 2012

The Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) slum rehabilitation project worth Rs. 210 crore is on track and expected to be completed by 2012. The main objective behind the project was to make the Kalyan – Dombivali area slum free. Mumbai based infrastructure developer Neev Infra bagged the KDMC project in 2008. The developer has completed up to 20 per cent of the project which comprises of completion of some of the residential buildings.
 
The group was contracted to develop 58 buildings in 7 packages out of which the residential buildings moreover constituted the completed percentage under JNNURM scheme. The entire project is funded by Central Government for providing basic services to the urban poor (BSUP).
 
Neev Infra will develop 4,181 flats, 75 community halls and 6 multipurpose halls. Each flat has a carpet area of 270 sq ft which includes a living room, kitchen and a separate WC inclusive of storage area and bathing area and total construction area is around 18,00,000 sq ft . As per the KDMC contract, Neev Infra will cater to the entire area’s infrastructure needs.
