Berger Paints buys Sherwin Williams’ architectural paints operations
Berger Paints India has acquired the architectural paints business of Sherwin Williams Paints India for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will be carried out through the Kolkata-based Berger Paints’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Brushworks Paints, the company said in a release.
Commenting on the announcement, K S Dhingra, Chairman of Berger said, “This transaction will significantly increase our presence in key markets, it builds on our strategy to grow our architectural paint business throughout India and it brings a high quality, committed team of employees to Berger paints India Limited. We are proud to welcome such a well-respected team into the Berger family.”
Founded in 1923, Berger Paints India Limited manufactures and markets a range of decorative and industrial paint products and has operations throughout India with seven manufacturing facilities, over 135 depots, over 2500 employees and more than 15000 dealers.
