Vedanta Aluminium appoints Luca Zipponi  as new CEO

With over 30 years of expertise, Luca Zipponi is being appointed CEO of Rolled Products at Vedanta Aluminium, where his leadership is going to promote innovation and growth.

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, recently hired Luca Zipponi as CEO of Rolled Products. In this post, Luca will be in charge of driving growth and directing all operations for the product group, with a variety of applications in automotive, insulation, power projects, electrical, and packaging, to mention a few. He will ensure that technology is used optimally to promote innovation and provide better value to consumers, hence strengthening Vedanta Aluminium’s market leadership and operational excellence.

With over 30 years of experience, Luca brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to his new post, having held different leadership positions throughout Europe and Asia. He previously held the positions of Group Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director UK at Reflexallen Group. His broad knowledge in operations and strategy is likely to help Vedanta Aluminium advance its rolled products business.

Vedanta Aluminium’s Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO) operation in Korba, Chhattisgarh, has a cutting-edge rolled products facility with a capacity of 0.72 lakh tonnes per annum (LTPA). The configuration consists of casting stations, continuous casters, hot rolled mills, and cold rolled mills.
