Adani commits ₹65,000 crore for Chhattisgarh development

Gautam Adani announces a ₹65,000 crore investment in Chhattisgarh for energy, cement, CSR activities, and industrial diversification.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, proposed a significant ₹ 65,000 crore investment in Chhattisgarh at a meeting with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the latter’s official residence in Raipur. This investment aims to grow the group’s energy and cement operations, with a strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

According to a statement from the state’s public relations department, Adani announces intentions to invest ₹ 60,000 crore to improve the group’s power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh. This development will add 6,120 MW to Chhattisgarh’s power-producing capacity, significantly benefiting the state’s energy sector.

The Group also committed ₹ 5,000 crore to the construction and expansion of its cement factories in the state, bolstering Chhattisgarh’s status as a cement manufacturing powerhouse.

Beyond infrastructure, Gautam Adani is investing ₹10,000 crore over the next four years for CSR projects. These funds will be used to support vital areas such as education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism, thereby contributing to the state’s overall socioeconomic development.

The group additionally addresses other avenues for collaboration, such as the production of defence-related equipment, the building of data centres, and the establishment of a Global Capability Centre in Chhattisgarh. These measures are designed to help diversify the state’s industrial environment and boost its economic potential.

The Adani Group’s large investment matches the state’s ambition for growth, creating new job opportunities and supporting its development across several industries. The overall planned investment, including future efforts, is expected to exceed ₹ 75,000 crore, highlighting Chhattisgarh’s vital role in India’s economic landscape.
