As India grows and the cities expand it is necessary to ensure that connectivity within the cities is faster and affordable. Given the rate at which cities are expanding, especially the far-off suburbs the railways and metros will play an important role in ensuring efficient transportation throughout the cities. Different cities in India as also abroad are witnessing the rise of the metro likewise new railway corridors are opening up.
In creating and designing these projects meant for public consumption there are many aspects to look at, a good deal of planning is required not to mention the use of novel technologies for its construction. When it comes to the design of the metro and railway stations, the idea is to ensure they remain embedded in the caricature of the region and invoke the spirit of the city they are based in.
