As cities grow, the development of railways and metros is imminent as it is one of easiest ways to ensure last mile connectivity. Designing these infra utilities involves a precise use of innovative materials and technologies to ensure they are robust, long lasting and energy efficient; not to mention the timely maintenance to keep them that way. Different cities in India as also abroad are witnessing the rise of the metro likewise new railway corridors are opening up, embedding the design of the stations with a local and at times a global flavour is also a key task. The rise of the metro and railways also has a bearing on the growth and development of real estate especially in far off areas which were otherwise not connected.
