As the Indian economy gets urbanised, it would be crucial to plan newer airports across the country as India develops and Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities become significant hubs of commerce and economic activity. To guarantee they have enough area for future expansion, newer airports are being built farther from cities than airports constructed before. At the same time, it’s crucial to make sure that any architectural changes made to current airports to prepare them for the future consider the long-term issues facing a rising country like India. Airports must also be energy-efficient, green, and sustainable, so the design strategy adopted and the material utilised must be carefully chosen.
Keeping this in mind, ACE Update Architecture and Design Series conducted an online interaction on 15th July 2022 on ‘Sustainable Design Ideas for Emerging Airports’ at 4 PM IST.
