Applications for faster and more accurate solutions

With increasing need for innovative products and solutions to enhance operations in infrastructure projects, Hikvision has come up with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled applications with a focus on smart city projects. The applications include AI Cloud, DeepinView cameras and DeepinMind NVRs. Government’s Make in India initiative has also given a boost to the company’s products in the market, which is likely to pare the total cost of ownership in projects, says Ashish P. What are the latest trends in surveillance with respect to smart cities?
The evolving technology ecosystem that is building the Smart Cities of the future includes Information and Communication technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), sensors, geospatial technology -Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Remote Sensing and GIS (Geographic Information System), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain.

Artificial Intelligence will play acritical role in intelligent traffic management and advance video analytics. AI technology applications and AI Cloud will help video surveillance and video analytics to become faster, smarter and more accurate. Blockchain application is new to smart cities, it helps to secure the data flow.

Digital solutions for a more livable future, body-worn cameras, advanced surveillance cameras with analytics, gunshot detectors and home security systems are some of the notable devices being deployed across smart cities to enhance security operations, according to McKinsey Global Institute 2018 report, Smart Cities. These sensors enable real-time crime mapping and predictive policing, which can help to reduce assault, robbery, and burglary incidents by 30 to 40 per cent.

How are your products contributing to making smart cities safer?
Hikvision is leading in the video surveillance domain with technology innovation through research and development initiative. The company has brought many new technologies to the forefront of smart city and safe city domain. These latest products and solutions include AI-enabled DeepinView Cameras and DeepinMind NVRs, AI Cloud, AI-enabled face recognition terminals and swing barriers, smart pole, emergency call switch, AI technology applications (face recognition, people tracking, perimeter protection), intelligent traffic management solutions and mobile solutions, access control solutions, intrusion system and PanoVu Cameras, etc.

Besides, the ‘Make in India’ initiative has helped us to offer best-in-class products in the Indian market, and is also likely to reduce the total cost of ownership in projects.
