Ashoka Buildcon secures ₹569 crore railway contract

Ashoka Buildcon Limited, India’s leading infrastructure development company, has secured a major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract worth ₹569.09 crore with Central Railway. The contract is for the gauge conversion of the Pachora-Jamner section in Maharashtra, which is expected to significantly improve connectivity and regional development in the state.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the scope of work includes carrying out the gauge conversion project on an EPC basis. As part of a larger effort to modernise the region’s rail network, this will include construction, electrification, signalling and telecommunications upgrades, and other related infrastructure improvements.

The Pachora-Jamner section, which is currently operating on narrow gauge, will be converted to broad gauge, bringing it in line with the rest of the Indian Railways mainline network. The upgrade is expected to speed up trains, increase passenger and freight capacity, and improve connectivity to Maharashtra’s interior regions.
