BEML enters Thailand with Rs.120-crore truck contract

BEML, a state-owned company which makes heavy equipment used in mining and infrastructure projects, has entered the Thai market by appointing Paragon Machinery as its distributor for Thailand. With this business association, Paragon will market the range of BEML products like dump trucks, excavators, loaders, motor graders, dozers etc. all over Thailand and neighbouring nations like Myanamar, Laos, Cambodia etc.
On that occasion, VRS Natarajan, Chairman & Managing Director of BEML handed-over 21 of 100 tonne dump trucks to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), a lignite and power producing company. The 21 dump trucks entail 10 years maintenance contract, making the total contract worth of  Rs.120 crore. EGAT will deploy these trucks in their lignite mines whose output is used for captive power generation plant of EGAT.
