BHEL Bags 600 MW Thermal Power Plant Contract

Restoring confidence in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)’s proven technological excellence, Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGenco) recently placed a major order for supply and installation of the main plant package for a power project in Andhra Pradesh, involving one new rating thermal power generating unit of 600 MW.
 
The order also reinforces BHEL’s leadership status in the execution of thermal power projects involving supply of state-of-the-art equipment, suited to Indian conditions.
 
BHEL’s scope of work in the contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, along with state-of-the-art Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) and other associated auxiliaries including switch-yard.
 
The company has been committed to the nation’s power development program and has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian power sector by equipping itself for the future with contemporary technology, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and skilled technical manpower to meet the country’s power forecast in the future. The company has established the capability to deliver 15,000 MW per annum and further augmentation to 20,000 MW per annum is underway.
