The Eastern Phase of the Pune Ring Road project begins with groundbreaking, bringing new connectivity opportunities and economic development to the city.
The Pune Ring Road project, a highly anticipated infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in Pune, has commenced with the groundwork for its Eastern Phase. This transformative project, spanning approximately 170 kilometers and divided into four phases, is projected to cost ₹42,000 crores and is expected to significantly bolster the city’s infrastructure and economic growth.
The Eastern Phase, which covers a 24.5-kilometre stretch connecting Pune Nagar Road and Solapur Highway, is spearheaded by Roadway Solution India Infra Ltd. The company has established its operational base at Wadebolhai village near Kesnand to facilitate the construction process. Over 100 excavators and heavy machinery have been deployed to ensure the timely completion of this phase once officially inaugurated by the Government of Maharashtra.
This momentous endeavour began with a traditional pooja and groundbreaking ceremony, attended by dignitaries such as Ameet Gadhoke, Managing Director of Roadway Solution Infra, and B. K. Singh, Director of Roadway India Infra. Local lawmakers Kunal Gupta and Vishal Ghule Patil, as well as several villagers, attended the occasion, demonstrating the community’s support for the initiative.
The Pune Ring Road is designed to reduce traffic congestion in the city by providing a smooth bypass for intercity and heavy automobile traffic. Its goal is to improve communication between important highways such as the Mumbai-Pune Motorway, Pune-Nagar Road, and Solapur Highway while reducing the pressure on current urban routes. This enormous project is projected to create new potential for industrial and residential development in the region, hence promoting economic growth.
With its strategic importance and significant investment, the Pune Ring Road is poised to be a game changer for the city, assuring improved mobility, shorter travel times, and a higher quality of life for its citizens. The start of the Eastern Phase is a big step forward in this transformational journey.
