India Chapter of American Concrete Institute (ICACI) successfully concluded its first 6-month Internship programme for civil engineering students, as it continues to invest in the development of young, engineering students.

Conceptualised as a tri-partite arrangement involving Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), STRUCTWEL Designers and Consultants Pvt. Interns from C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Odisha, were trained for 5 months at STRUCTWEL and its partner contracting firms involved in the field of repairs, namely M/s Sanjay Constructions, M/s Unique Rehab, M. S. Mistry (I) Constructions Pvt Ltd, M/s Hi-tech associates.

In resonance with one of CIDC’s objectives to train manpower and raise quality levels across the industry, one-month training was also imparted at its Delhi training centre.

The six-month internship programme designed and organised by STRUCTWEL, allowed students interested in engineering careers the chance to develop important operational skills required to succeed in the industry, along with exposure to specific areas of repairs, retrofitting and material testing.

In addition to learning practical aspects of the job, the interns gained exposure to company culture and learned from mentors with over 25 years of industry experience.
