IRCON to execute major rail projects nationwide
IRCON secures Northeast and Uttarakhand rail projects, highlighting its role in advancing India\u2019s critical infrastructure developments.
Ircon International Limited (IRCON) recently acquired a critical contract from Northeast Frontier Railway, marking an additional milestone in its impressive project portfolio. The newly granted contract encompasses outsourcing Traction Distribution (TRD) Maintenance and Breakdown Service work, which includes operations at 20 Overhead Equipment (OHE) Depots in Tinsukia and Lumding Divisions. The whole contract value is roughly ₹ 89 crore, divided into two components of ₹ 39 crore and ₹ 50 crore, respectively. Notably, the contract is domestic and does not fall under Cost Plus agreements. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, demonstrating IRCON’s commitment to timely and effective delivery.
This milestone demonstrates IRCON’s competence in delivering high-value infrastructure projects, as well as its steadfast commitment to driving progress in the Indian railway sector. TRD’s maintenance and breakdown attention work is crucial for guaranteeing continuous and effective railway operations, especially in locations that serve as vital transport arteries in the Northeast.
In addition to the recent Northeast Frontier Railway project, IRCON-PARAS-PCM, a joint venture involving IRCON, Paras Railtech, and PCM Strescon, received a significant ₹ 7,50,82,79,068.08 contract from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL). The project will oversee the construction of a 125-kilometer broad gauge ballastless track between Rishikesh and Karanprayag in Uttarakhand, a difficult terrain that necessitates precision engineering and meticulous design. IRCON owns 60 percent of the joint venture, with Paras Railtech and PCM Strescon holding 25 percent and 15 percent, respectively. The ambitious project is expected to be finished in 42 months, highlighting IRCON’s role in transformative infrastructure projects that improve connectivity and promote regional growth.
These accomplishments demonstrate IRCON’s diverse skills and strategic focus on increasing its footprint in critical infrastructure domains. With its proven track record, IRCON continues to make important contributions to India’s objective of modernising its railway network while cementing its position as an infrastructure industry leader.
