LED Expo Mumbai 2025 showcases smart and sustainable lighting

The 29th LED Expo Mumbai started at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, with 233+ exhibitors demonstrating smart lighting, biomimicry breakthroughs, and sustainability-focused LEDs, as well as expert seminars and workshops on lighting design and technology.

LED Expo Mumbai, India’s most anticipated event on LED and lighting technologies, began today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.  It illuminated the venue using innovative lighting methods.  Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India organised the 29th edition, which featured a one-of-a-kind combination of LED lighting products, components, and solutions, including smart lights, LEDs for design and décor, LEDs for atmospheric lighting and wellness, and problem-solving innovations such as biomimicry in lighting applications from over 233 exhibitors.

Illuminating the industry with lighting innovations for the future, LED Expo Mumbai was inaugurated today. Esteemed dignitaries gracing the ceremony included:

During the inauguration ceremony, Dominic Romell, President, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry & Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (MCHI-CREDAI), expresses, “I am very happy to be here at the LED Expo Mumbai. I request all the developers to come and see what the products are. These products can help add a premium rating to their real estate projects and add value to your flat sales. There are wonderful products here, nearly 6,000 products and I have seen about 1,000 products, and these are worth watching. Every exhibitor has a different aspect of it right from nature to biomimicry. So, you have everything under one roof.” 

Day one of the event features a dynamic panel discussion titled ‘CXO Power Panel – Balancing Design, Innovation, and Manufacturing Excellence in the Lighting Industry’, hosted by Women in Lighting, India.  The conversation centred on the growing relationships between cutting-edge lighting design and the realities of large-scale manufacturing. C-suite executives from major lighting design firms and manufacturers in India will debate how to find the correct balance between aesthetics, functionality, affordability, and sustainability.

Day two will engage visitors in three technical workshops on the topic: 

– ‘Acoustic Lights’ by Silence Acoustics
– Biomimicry Designs & their Impact on the environment by Studio Black Canvas
– Understanding Lighting Control – Systems, Protocols & Automation by Brightworks Lighting Solution
– Panel Discussion – Landscape Lighting for Safety, Security, & Sustainability  

The event has received support from prestigious industry bodies and associations, including Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a unit of the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), The Electric Merchants Association (EMA), and Women in Lighting India.
