Metro Rail between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar [May 2012]

The Gujarat Government has forwarded the detailed project report for metro rail between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for central assistance to the extent of at least 25 per cent of total cost of the project.
The Minister of State for Urban Development, Saugata Roy informed that a special purpose vehicle (SPV), Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) Company Limited, fully owned by the Government of Gujarat, has been incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 with the authorised share capital of Rs. 200 crore. However, no time limit has been fixed for the project.
