PM Modi announces development projects worth ₹13,480 crore in Bihar

In order to improve Bihar’s infrastructure and encourage local development, Prime Minister Modi formally inaugurated important projects in the energy, road, and railway sectors.

A major step towards regional infrastructure and economic advancement was taken when Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened and laid the groundwork for a number of development projects in Bihar’s Madhubani district, totalling more than ₹13,480 crore. The projects, which span critical sectors such as railways, roads, petroleum, and natural gas, aim to improve connectivity, boost livelihoods, and improve the overall quality of life in the state.

PM Modi dedicated the newly constructed Indian Oil Corporation LPG bottling plant and storage terminal in Motihari, as well as the Muzaffarpur-Motihari LPG pipeline project. These initiatives are expected to streamline LPG supply in north Bihar, increasing energy access and household convenience.

In the transport sector, the Prime Minister laid the groundwork for doubling railway lines, building road overbridges and upgrading highways to improve intra- and interstate connectivity. These projects aim to reduce travel time, improve freight movement, and boost trade in Bihar and surrounding areas.

PM Modi also spoke to a public gathering in Madhubani, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and the empowerment of backward and rural areas. He emphasised that these infrastructure projects are part of a larger strategy to strengthen the foundation of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India), with Bihar playing a key role.

The launch of these high-value projects reflects the Centre’s commitment to equitable development in eastern India, bridging historical gaps in infrastructure and economic growth. The multifaceted investments are expected to create jobs, improve logistics, and boost industrial activity, paving the way for long-term socioeconomic transformation in the region.
