PM Modi inaugurates major infrastructure projects in Thane

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the groundwork for major infrastructure projects in Thane, including the metro, motorway, and redevelopment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the groundwork for several schemes worth over ₹ 328 billion, including the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. He also inaugurated the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project at a ceremony in Thane.

In a substantial attempt to improve urban mobility in the region, the Prime Minister inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR segment of Mumbai Metro Line 3, which costs around ₹ 141.20 billion. This segment will have ten stations, with nine of them being underground.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a critical public transport development designed to improve travel between Mumbai and its suburbs. Once fully operating, the line is estimated to service approximately 12 lakh passengers per day.

The Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project is being built at a cost of ₹ 122 billion and would traverse a total of 29 km, with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This massive infrastructure project is meant to meet the growing transport needs of Thane, Maharashtra’s major industrial and commercial hub. The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane will provide smooth connectivity between south Mumbai and Thane.

The NAINA project, estimated to cost ₹ 25.50 billion, will comprise the development of major arterial highways, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure.Furthermore, the Prime Minister lay the groundwork for the Thane Municipal Corporation, which will cost around ₹ 7 billion to build.
