Highbond Coatings’ Sharad Kathole walks us through his company’s product portfolio, highlighting its products’ quality processes and application areas.

Can you provide a brief of your company and your eco-friendly solutions?
We began 12 years ago as Weather Fighter Pvt Ltd, a company specialising in applying products from leading construction chemicals manufacturers. Over the years, as we gained extensive hands-on experience, we evolved into a speciality construction chemicals manufacturer. We offer a range of products, including waterproofing systems, concrete admixtures, and construction chemicals. Our eco-friendly product portfolio includes water-based coatings, encompassing bituminous waterproofing coatings, a single-component liquid waterproofing product, a white bond, an acrylic-based coating, and latex-based coatings.

Can you walk us through your segment-wise product portfolio?
We provide specialised products for new construction, repair and renovations, flooring, and industrial structures. We offer admixtures, cementitious products, epoxy-based coatings, and single—and double-component PU systems for new construction. These can also be applied in building upgradation and repair. Our floor coatings, specifically formulated for industrial applications, comprise epoxy flooring and PU flooring. A new product gaining popularity in parking areas of commercial spaces is our three-layered epoxy-based product. It renders an anti-slip surface and offers a good grip for vehicles.

How are your concrete admixtures tailored to enhance the performance of concrete structures in water-prone regions or during monsoons?
Our admixtures help conserve water, enhance flowability, improve curing, and boost the performance of cementitious materials like aggregates, cement, and sand. Given the higher fly ash content in cement today, our admixtures help make these mixes more workable, improving fast or slow curing based on the high or low temperatures.

Can you explain the quality systems you have in place to ensure product quality—both in-house and certified?
We follow a three-way quality certification process: in-house quality testing, third-party NABL-accredited lab and government body certifications. Our in-house QC team certifies in-house quality. Our sister company, Weather Fighter Pvt Ltd, tests and proves our products in real conditions before market launch.

Do you have in-house technologies for manufacturing or application?
Each product—whether polyurethane, cementitious coatings, sealants, or polysulfides—requires a unique technology and manufacturing process. While the specific formulations are proprietary, our engineers are trained to ensure quality at all levels. Our applicators undergo rigorous training for testing and on-site application. We also provide training to buyers who would like to use our products.

What specialised products do you offer for waterproofing, repairs, and renovation?
Given the high rate of structural degradation in India, largely due to environmental conditions and substandard civil material quality, we offer a wide range of products for repair. Some of our widely applied products include ready-to-use single- and two-component liquid polyurethane materials, hot- and cold-applied polyurea, and other waterproofing solutions, particularly for water-prone areas of built structures like swimming pools, rooftops, industrial structures, PEB structures, and more.
