RVNL to build 10 elevated stations for Nagpur Metro Phase 2
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) is constructing 10 elevated stations for Nagpur Metro’s Phase 2 under a ₹270 crore contract with Maharashtra Metro.
RVNL, a state-owned firm, secures a ₹270-crore contract from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. to construct 10 elevated metro stations as part of Phase 2 of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project. The contract includes seven Reach 3A stations (Hingna Mount View, Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, APMC, Raipur, Hingna Bus Station, and Hingna), as well as three Reach 4A stations (Pardi, Kapsi Khurd, and Transport Nagar).
Despite landing new contracts, RVNL reported a 27 percent year-on-year fall in net profit at ₹286.9 crore for the quarter, compared to ₹394.3 crore last year. The reduction was related to declining operational margins and earnings. Revenue from operations declined by 1.2 percent to ₹4,855 crore. EBITDA also fell 9 percent, with margins falling to 5.6 percent from 6 percent due to operational issues.
However, RVNL improved sequentially, with earnings climbing by 28.1 percent and revenue increasing by 19.2 percent quarter on quarter. Tax expenses fell 0.5 percent year on year but jumped 17.2 percent from the prior quarter.
