SANY introduced India’s first hybrid 100-ton mining truck

SANY launched India’s first hybrid 100-tonne mining truck, the SKT130S, which is locally manufactured in Pune, promoting self-reliance through cutting-edge diesel-electric technology.

The first hybrid off-highway 100-tonne mining dump truck product in India was unveiled today by SANY, a prominent manufacturer of construction, mining, logistics, and energy equipment, with local production at its Pune factory. This cutting-edge addition to SANY’s mining equipment line represents a significant step towards increasing the country’s self-reliance in producing the next generation of mining machinery using world-class technology.

The SKT130S is designed to provide exceptional power, efficiency, and operator safety. It features a high-performance 925 kW rated power engine that generates an impressive 3200 Nm of torque, ensuring superior durability in challenging mining environments. Designed for heavy-duty applications, the truck features a 100-tonne payload capacity and a 61 CuM heaped body capacity, making it a formidable asset in mining.

The SKT130S is expected to save 20 to 25 percent on fuel when compared to conventional mining trucks. Its main feature is a regenerative braking system, which allows the high-voltage battery to charge while driving downhill.

The SKT130S is engineered to deliver peak performance, with an intelligent control module that ensures smooth operations and a 10-inch central control screen for improved navigation and safety. Built with a strong emphasis on operator safety, the truck cabin is FOPS/ROPS certified, ensuring compliance with global safety standards while maintaining strength and agility.

SANY India has localised the SKT130S, reaffirming its commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, and is actively working to localise additional major components.
