Siemens to provide comprehensive Security Solutions to Bharat Diamond Bourse
The Building Technologies Division of Siemens would implement comprehensive integrated security solutions at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) Complex.
Mumbai-based BDB is the world’s largest diamond exchange. The complex is designed to house around 2,500 small and large diamond traders in addition to a customs house, banks and other service providers who cater to the gem & jewellery sector. Siemens will deliver cutting-edge, integrated security based systems to safeguard the entire 20 acre complex. Siemens, in cooperation with BDB steering committee and their consultant John Mech – EL l, devised a comprehensive state-of-the-art security system for the entire complex which is scheduled to be operational by November 2012.
With total constructed area of over 3 million sq. ft., the complex has an inflow of more than 20,000-30,000 people daily. BDB will put into operation Siemens security management platforms that integrate and control CCTV, alarms, access control and perimeter protection. The security personnel can be prompted to take corrective action and the software can automatically set in motion a sequence of pre-agreed activities to ensure adherence to right procedures as well as distributing essential information across multiple agencies. In addition, system logs and records of all actions enable auditing of every activity.
