Suguna to launch Suguna Shatal light construction machines

Suguna Pumps and Motors, one of the leading players in the pump and motor industry, has entered into a unique partnership with Israel-based Shatal Engineering for marketing special machines.
The JV will initially launch light construction machines like vibratory plate compactors, concrete and asphalt saws, brick and tile saws, and power trowels.
Addressing the media V. Lakshminarayan-samy, Chairman, Suguna Group  said, “The demand for quality construction and the kind of high-pressure construction schedules under which the industry is functioning has sky rocketed the demand for quality construction equipment.”
“Labour shortage, the necessity for effective construction cycles and cost-effective operations had made it imperative for construction companies to invest in simple, productive construction equipment that save time and wastage. The current scenario is right for the entry of quality international brands which can fill the gap and give a boost to the construction sector. Suguna’s new venture with Shatal is a step in the right direction,” he further added.
The Indian construction industry is the second largest employer in the country and has been growing at a phenomenal rate. The government’s projection of investment by the construction industry during the 12th Five-Year Plan from 2012-17 is expected to be $1,025 billion. According to Gyan Research and Analytics Report, the size of the Indian construction equipment market is about $4 billion. The industry is expected to grow at 20 per cent annually.
