Tata Power Solar installs rooftop systems in Chhattisgarh

Tata Power Solar starts a rooftop solar systems project in Chhattisgarh, building 600 units and boosting sustainable energy usage countrywide.

Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd (TPSSL) recently set up 600 rooftop solar systems in Chhattisgarh as part of an initiative, a company official announces. The business, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), launched its rooftop solar system installation project following success in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala, according to an official.

The installation of rooftop solar systems under the initiative, ‘GharGharSolar, Tata Power ke Sang’, began in the state in mid-this year, but it was officially launches this week by Tata Power Company Chief Executive Office & Managing Director Praveer Sinha and TPREL CEO and MD Deepesh Nanda, according to the official.He states that the effort aims to provide clean energy to all homes in the state, expanding on India’s commitment to developing sustainable energy alternatives.

Chhattisgarh is emerging as an important focus for TPSSL’s activities and ambitions, with a portfolio of over 600 installations totalling more than 250 MW capacity across residential, commercial, industrial, and direct projects. The program will include all 33 districts in the state, he says.

According to the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, householders can receive a federal government subsidy of ₹ 30,000 for 1kW,₹ 60,000 for 2kW, and ₹ 78,000 for a 3-10kW system, he explains. These subsidies seek to make solar energy installations more accessible and inexpensive, allowing every home to transition to renewable energy without incurring financial costs, he states.
