UltraTech adds 1.4 MTPA cement capacity in India

UltraTech Cement has increased its production capacity by 1.4 MTPA following the successful completion of key operational enhancement initiatives.

In the course of its continuous capacity expansion programme, the Ultratech company has effectively finished a number of debottlenecking and efficiency improvement projects in strategic locations. These efforts have increased production capacity of 1.4 million tonnes per year (mtpa), further strengthening its position in the cement industry.

The increased capacity results from upgrades at the following grinding units:
• Nagpur, Maharashtra – 0.6 mtpa.
• Panipat, Haryana – 0.4 mtpa.
• Jajjar, Haryana – 0.4 mtpa.

With the completion and stabilisation of these initiatives, the Company’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity is now 184.76 million tonnes per annum. With its overseas capacity of 5.4 mtpa, global cement manufacturing capacity has reached 190.16 mtpa.

This strategic expansion aims to meet rising market demand while increasing operational efficiency and supply chain responsiveness. The company remains committed to long-term growth and infrastructure expansion to better serve domestic and international markets.
