Vikram Solar commissions 2 PV Power Plants in India [Apr 2012]

Vikram Solar, a Kolkata based solar module manufacturing Indian multinational, commissioned two new power plants – one in Gujarat and one in Rourkela, Orissa.  The Gujarat plant is a 5 MW power plant and the second plant in Orissa is capable of producing 1 MW power.
The project is located at Bachchau in Gujarat is sponsored by Konark Gujarat whereas plant in Orissa is located at Ranja village, in Deogargh district and sponsored by Molisati Vinimay. Both these projects have been built under the policy guidance from Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).
Gyanesh Chaudhury, Managing Director, Vikram Solar said “Today we are pleased to promote a new, clean, cost-effective in-state electric generation with the commencement of two new power plants one in Gujarat and the other in Orissa respectively. We are committed to protect and encourage better use of natural resources of our country by implementing better technologies”.
