Government aunches FDR Road Project in Himachal

State Minister Rajesh Dharmani announces the Gahar-Naswal road project in Himachal Pradesh, utilising Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology to cut costs by 80 percent.

In the Ghumarwin subdivision of this district, Himachal Pradesh will construct its first road utilising Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology, state government minister Rajesh Dharmani reveales.

5,000 locals will profit from the construction of the 7-kilometer Gahar-Naswal road, which will cost ₹ 5.50 percent crore. According to officials, the FDR technique would save construction costs by nearly 80 percent.

Roads built with FDR technology are better for cars and more resilient.
Up to 113 state roads are being constructed utilising FDR technology in the first phase, according to Dharmani, the minister responsible for technical education.

FDR is a pavement rehabilitation technology that creates a homogenous stabilised base course by consistently pulverising and blending the entire flexible pavement section with a specified amount of the underlying materials. Using components from the crumbling asphalt pavement, FDR produces a new stabilised basis by adding cement.

In October of last year, Prime Minister Gramme Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) districts received an instruction from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to utilise FDR technology for the construction of 666 km of roads by the Public Works Department.
